BUY ONE CHOOSE ONE


CONCEPT

BOCO, an exclusive "Buy One, Choose One" offer crafted in collaboration with five major studios: Disney, Fox, Universal, Warner Bros, and Sony, for Movies Anywhere users. With this enticing promotion, when users purchased a movie through any of the in-app retailers, they were give the opportunity to select a free bonus movie to expand their collection. Our team's objective was to develop campaign creative that features the diverse range of movies from each studio and apply to all facets of marketing.

I worked closely with Senior Designer, Chris Sequeira and Manager, Nicole Chin.

STUDIO GRIDS

At the start of this project, our objective was to curate an extensive collection of renowned movie titles from Disney, Fox, Universal, WB and Sony. Our task was to pull as much key art as possible and organize these popular titles into individual containers, ensuring they harmoniously coexisted without any overlap. After carefully placing the key art and title treatments, we had a select few per studio which included classics and more recent films.

MULTI-STUDIO GRID

We developed a larger grid layout to carefully place each key art tile together and combined all five studios into one.

THE KEY ART PUZZLE

The biggest challenge we faced with creating this multi-studio grid, all Disney titles could not be next to any rated R titles for legal reasons. The key art puzzle project began and I mixed and matched the titles while also ensuring that the red and green outlined key art would not touch when duplicated into a larger grid. Finally, we had our polished grid!

INDIVIDUAL STUDIO KEYSTONES

The studios also requested their own individual key art assets to feature on their socials, emails and landing pages for this offer.

SOCIAL MEDIA

I created these GIF animations as a teaser to create engagement for the upcoming exciting offer from the studios they know and love.

FINAL CREATIVE

This was our final creative featuring the multi-studio grid and messaging for the biggest offer ever. It was a wonderful experience getting to work with the studios and highlight some of the best films, all in one place.

PAID MEDIA

After the BOCO campaign, we were able to repurpose our multi-studio grid for paid media and update the tiles with more recent titles. I carefully adjusted each size and created all of the variations needed.

THE EL CAPITAN THEATRE

The multi-studio grid then transformed into a collaboration with The El Capitan Theatre. I lead this project and worked closely with the El Cap team to create Movies Anywhere visuals that would be shown on a tryptic display of monitors. The ads went live during the theatrical release of Lightyear and were featured in the lobby and waiting areas. This project was particularly challenging because of the distance between the monitors. I used a reference image to make sure that the spacing in between each monitor would match perfectly with the continuous key art grid.

DREAM COME TRUE

Having cherished childhood memories of seeing films at The El Capitan Theatre with my family, the opportunity to collaborate as a Designer years later was nothing short of a dream come true. Witnessing our collaborative work firsthand alongside my entire immediate family, during the screening of Lightyear, was a truly unforgettable experience.
